Burdur, 2-8 November Leukemia Children’s Week was celebrated with Mehmet Akif Ersoy University students.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Social Work Department students’ established Lösev FAYDA Community; with the support of the Rock Music Community and Folk Dance Communities within the university, organized the ‘’LÖSEV AWARENESS CONCERT’’. The event, organized as an awareness activity for the 2-8 November Leukemia Children’s Week, started with a speech by the Community’s academic Advisor Assoc. Dr. Deniz Say Şahin's speech emphasizing the significance of the day, followed by the opening speech of the Community President Zeyit Emirhan Alkan. The event continued with a local dance performance by the Folk Dance Community and then a wonderful concert by the rock music community, creating both awareness and a night full of entertainment.
Before the stage performances, short films about Lösev were shown, providing an effective experience in terms of creating awareness for the audience. After the screening of the short film, which is a re-adaptation of the movie Canım Kardeşim for Lösev, the community president said; ‘’Leukemia was seen as an incurable disease, but exactly 25 years ago Lösev was founded and the fate of those heroes changed. Now we have thousands of new heroes, our story has a happy ending’’ he said. With these words, he drew attention to both the 25th anniversary of Lösev’s founding and the importance of the 2-8 November week.
